News Item: Former South African President, anti-apartheid activist, and Nobel Peace Prize recipient Nelson Mandela celebrated his 90th birthday last week. He was recently removed from a United States terrorism watch list. A bill, sponsored by U.S. Senators John Kerry (D-MA), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), and Bob Corker (R-TN), and signed by President Bush in early July, called for the removal of Mandela from the list.
