Digital Collection of the Month: Department of Music

The Digital Library celebrates November with a brand new digital collection from the Department of Music.  All of the Department’s 2008 performances, concerts and recitals are available online for your listening pleasure.

November is a notable music month with the births of legendary composers Aaron Copland, Scott Joplin, and Manuel de Falla.

Remembering Poetry the Rest of the Year

At the close of National Poetry Month, April 2009, we would like to leave you with some audio thoughts that may encourage further exploration. Some may feel that poetry is inaccessible, but finding the right poem, or the right way a poet describes a poem, can open you up to reinterpreting the mundane. Spirit Award Winning Films in the Library

As the first event to honor independent film exclusively, Film Independent’s Spirit Awards has made a name for itself as the premier awards event for the independent film community. It’s a celebration of the spirited pioneers who bring a unique vision to filmmaking.  See Film Independent’s Spirit Awards for a complete description.

This years Spirit Award’s ceremony will be held on February 21st, and will recognize achievements in independent film, including Best Feature, Best First Feature, and Best Feature Made for Under $500,000 (the John Cassavetes Award).
