The Mommy Wars

In the News: For a second year in a row, “In the News” is celebrating Mother’s Day early. The focus this time around is on “working” mothers. Political analyst and Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen recently commented that Ann Romney, wife of Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, had “never worked a day in her life” and because the Romneys were financially secure,  they did not have to “deal with the kinds of economic issues that a majority of the women in this country are facing” today. Mrs. Romney defended her choice to stay at home and raise her five sons, which, she said, was hard work.
