Created by Readex through partnerships with the American Antiquarian Society, Library of Congress, Wisconsin Historical Society and others, America’s Historical Newspapers<\/em> enables researchers to explore virtually every aspect of America during the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries.<\/p>\n EARLY AMERICAN NEWSPAPERS, SERIES 1, 1690-1876<\/strong><\/p>\n Series 1 <\/em>offers more than 700 historical American newspapers from 23 states and the District of Columbia printed between 1690 and 1876. Focusing primarily on the 18th<\/sup> century, Series 1<\/em> is based on Clarence S. Brigham’s “History and Bibliography of American Newspapers, 1690-1820” and other authoritative bibliographies.<\/p>\n EARLY AMERICAN NEWSPAPERS, SERIES 2, 1758-1900<\/strong><\/p>\n Series 2<\/em> provides access to more than 200 significant 18th<\/sup> and 19th<\/sup>-century newspapers, focusing on the period between 1820 and 1860, when the number of American newspapers increased significantly.
