News Item: <\/strong>President Barack Obama recently nominated Sonia Sotomayor to replace Justice David H. Souter who is retiring in June from the Supreme Court. If approved by the Senate, Sotomayor will become the third woman and only the first Latina to serve on the nation’s highest court. Sotomayor, a self-described Nuyorican<\/a>, is a 1979 graduate of Yale Law School and currently serves as a Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals judge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
