Policies and Procedures Manual
From wiki
1. Access: Members of the Boca Raton Reference Department as well as designated people at other campuses will have access to create new research guides for the wiki. Individuals outside the department desiring to contribute research guides may submit them through the administrator at their campus.
Current Administrators:
Boca Raton: Ken Frankel and Lauri Rebar
Davie and Fort Lauderdale: Leah Plocharczyk
Harbor Branch: Carla Robinson
MacArthur: Alia Spencer
Port St. Lucie: Pamela Alderman
2. Format: Research guides on the wiki should normally be designed according to the standardized format found in the Style Guide. If your guide does not fit into the standardized format, please speak with an administrator for permission to modify your guide.
3. Guide Content: Each guide will only contain resources found through the FAU library’s catalog, databases, and journals. Websites outside of the FAU library’s website can be included. However resources found at those libraries not included in the FAU catalog will not be listed. The choice of resources listed in each guide is up to the dicretion of the author of the wiki page.
4. Adding New Guides: New guides will be reviewed by the administrator prior to being added to the wiki.
5. Updating Guides: All guides will be updated at least one per year. A schedule will be developed by the administrator. Although any librarian is welcome to edit any of the subject guides, it is up to the wiki author to review the entire guide for clarity, relevence, and up-to-date links.
6. Author of the Guide: If the maintenance of a guide is given to a new librarian, the other major contributors to the guide will be acknowledged in the “about this guide” section. However, only the current librarian who is in charge of updating the guide will have an email contact.
7. Link Maintenance: A staff member will be designated to handle changes in URLs to ensure accuracy of links in the wiki.
8. Statistics Keeper: A designated staff member will check and record wiki statistics on a regular basis.
