Publications indexed include scholarly journals, magazines, newsletters, newspapers, books, pamphlets, conference proceedings, and government reports. Covers 175 titles. Topics: women's studies, gender studies, family studies, and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender studies.


Humanities Full Text

Accuracy in Media

A nonprofit watchdog group whose goal is to present fair and objective news.


Cursor.org

Put out by Cursor, Inc., a tax-exempt charity that educates the public on the relationship between media and society. Part of its mission has been to "expose the absurdities and excesses of an increasingly corporatized, sanitized and celebrity-driven news media."


Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting

The national watch group that has critically examined media bias and censorship. As a whole, the organization advocates for greater diversity in the press and media. Publishes the bi-monthly magazine, Extra!.


Independent Media Center

Established in 1999 to cover the grassroots activities of the World Trade Organization protests in Seattle. The organization has grown in the past few years to serve as a collective of independent media organizations.


Voice of the Shuttle: Media Studies

An annotated guide to online resources on media studies. Main website also features other areas of study within humanities research.

This guide was designed by Jacquelyn Erdman and Maris Hayashi to help identify resources on media studies and related topics in the FAU Libraries.
