Elsevier Science Direct

1,100+ scholarly journals in engineering, science, and social science disciplines. See also SpringerLink for additional scholarly science journals.

INSPEC

INSPEC can be accessed in three different ways.

The Inspec Archive provides access to historical scientific records in the fields of physics, electrical engineering, electronics computing and control engineering. With the digitizing of the entire collection of Science Abstracts Journals, which are the precursors to the Inspec database, librarians, academics and students are provided access to over 873,000 abstract records spanning the years 1898 through 1968.

Includes Physics Abstracts, Computer and Control Abstracts, and Electrical and Electronics Abstracts. The largest English language file of bibliographic information and abstracts on the world's output of published works in physics, electrical engineering and electronics, computing, and information technology. Covers scientific and technical journals and conference proceedings. Includes some books, reports, and dissertations.

JSTOR

Includes many full-text journal articles in mathematics such as Mathematics Magazine, Mathematics Computation, and more.

MathSciNet

Comprehensive database of literature on mathematics and its applications in a wide range of disciplines. It covers statistics, computer science, operations research, econometrics, engineering, physics, biology and other related areas. Coverage from 1940 to date.

Web of Science

Three unique citation databases which allow searching cited references as well as traditional searches independently or in combination: the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index.

About This Guide

This guide was designed by Eleanor Lomax and Kristy Padron to help identify resources on Mathematical Sciences and related topics in the FAU Libraries. The electronic resources are available from the FAU Libraries home page by following the links entitled Indexes/ Databases or Articles. Some of these resources have full-text articles available online. To access these resources from off campus, use the Off Campus Connect (EZproxy) link and log in using your 14-digit Owl Card number and your 4-digit birth month and day in the format "MMDD." For further assistance, please contact the Reference Desk by telephone (561-297-3785) or send e-mail lyref@fau.edu.
