Humanities Full Text Subject areas include archaeology, area studies, art, classical studies, communications, dance, film, folklore, gender studies, history, journalism, linguistics, literary and social criticism literature, music, performing arts, philosophy, religion and theology.


Index to Jewish Periodicals

The definitive index on Jewish history, activity and thought. This database provides a comprehensive guide to English-language articles, book reviews, and feature stories in more than 160 journals devoted to Jewish affairs. Titles include Contemporary Jewry, Holy Land Studies, Jewish Culture & History, Journal of Palestine Studies, Studies in American Jewish Literature, and many more. Most references are not found in standard periodical literature guides. Index to Jewish Periodicals is intended for students of Jewish thought and others interested in contemporary Jewish and Middle Eastern affairs. Journal coverage dates back as far as 1988.

In the First Person: An index to letters, diaries, oral histories, and other personal narratives

In the First Person is a new library index that lets users perform in-depth field and keyword searches across all letters, diaries, oral histories, memoirs, and autobiographies within scholarly materials that are freely available on the Web and Alexander Street databases. The search returns citation information and links to full text, audio, and video whenever available. Every imaginable topic, historical event, and person is covered, from World War I and II to popular culture, music to medicine, Hitler to John Wayne, gay rights to September 11th. And it will be updated quarterly. By the end of 2005, the index will point to 350,000 pages of full text and 3,500 collections-more than a million pages of editorially selected materials spanning 400 years.


JSTOR

Digital images of complete runs of back issues of selective journals in a variety of disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. Coverage varies; 19th century to 1995.


Judaica Sound Archives The Rescue Project began in the summer of 2002 with a collection of about 1800 vintage 78-rpm recordings of Jewish music. Through the thoughtful donations of both individuals and organizations, such as the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA, the collection grew to almost 6000 records in less than a year.


MLA International Bibliography

The MLA Bibliography indexes critical materials on literature, languages, linguistics, and folklore. The database provides access to citations from over 4,000 journals and series published worldwide, as well as books, essay collections, working papers, proceedings, dissertations, and bibliographies.


Oxford Journals

Provides online access to approximately 130 multidisciplinary journals published by Oxford University Press, with a contents alerting service. Subject areas include: area studies, art and visual culture, biochemistry and molecular biology, biology and ecology, classics, communication studies, computing and engineering, economics and business, genetics, geoscience, health sciences, history, language studies, law, literary studies, mathematics and statistics, medicine, music, neurology, oncology, philosophy, political science, psychology and psychiatry, religion, and sociology and social work.


Periodicals Archive Online

Comprehensive historical index of articles in numerous periodicals and journals in the arts, humanities, and social sciences, including many European titles. Coverage from 1770 to present.


The Philosopher's Index

Provides indexing and abstracts from books and journals of philosophy and related fields. It covers the areas of ethics, aesthetics, social philosophy, political philosophy, epistemology, and metaphysic logic as well as material on the philosophy of law, religion, science, history, education, and language.


ProQuest Dissertations & Theses

Covers every doctoral dissertation completed in the U.S. at accredited institutions for the last 150 years. Includes some master's theses and foreign language dissertations.


Social Science Abstracts

Subject areas include addiction studies, anthropology, area studies, community health and medical care, corrections, criminal justice, criminology, economics, environmental studies, ethics, family studies, gender studies, geography, gerontology, international relations, law, minority studies, planning and public administration, policy sciences, political science, psychiatry, psychology, public welfare, social work, sociology, and urban studies. Full text coverage begins in January 1995.


SpringerLink

Provides access to scholarly journals in business, law, medicine, humanities, science, and social science disciplines.


Web of Science - Arts and Humanities and Social Science Citation Indexes

Three unique citation databases which allow searching cited references as well as traditional searches independently or in combination: the Science Citation Index Expanded, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index.
