Vladimir Putin

In the News: Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin is running for his third, though not consecutive, term as president. He had previously served in 1999 following Boris Yeltsin’s resignation. Putin held that office until 2008, at which time he was immediately appointed as Prime Minister.
